Dominic J. Bagnoli, Jr., MD, is the executive chairman of the board for US Acute Care Solutions (USACS), the national’s largest physician-owned provider of emergency, hospital and critical care medicine. Dr. Bagnoli founded Emergency Medicine Physicians (EMP) in 1992 and led the company to become one of the fastest-growing, physician-owned emergency medicine organizations before securing private equity backing in 2015, at which time he formed USACS and positioned the firm for the next generation of its growth. In 2021 the organization bought out its private equity sponsor to return it to a clinician owned organization.
Today, USACS employs more than 5000 physicians and advance practice providers in 500 hospital-based programs in 30 states. Dr. Bagnoli has been recognized as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and by the Harvard Business Club of Northeast Ohio for outstanding entrepreneurship. His company has earned distinction as a Weatherhead 100 Fastest Growing Company, has been honored as the Best Employer in Ohio, and has ranked among Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in the US.

Dominic earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors from The Ohio State University, completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Akron General Medical Center and received his M.D at Wright State University. In addition to his role with the Cohesion Foundation, he currently serves on multiple Boards, including the USACS Board, The GI Alliance, EMP Holdings Ltd. Board as CEO and Chair, while having served in different roles throughout his career.
Dominic was a logical leader on the Cohesion Board with his track record of successful collaboration in creating solutions for industry issues.

We have so much to be grateful for that the opportunity to give back is very fulfilling. There are so many places that I could have chosen for my undergraduate education, but they all would have been only a four-year experience, Ohio State provides me a lifetime experience.
Athletes come to Ohio State to win championships we are all proud of and they also come to develop into great men and women. Cohesion Foundation gives us an opportunity to pay forward and use those funds to develop them off-the-field, learning a lifelong skill that will pay back many times over.
The education and connections that Cohesion will offer will no doubt prepare students for life after college, while at the same time helping charities in the community by providing them with access to enrolled Ohio State athletes.
